The solar industry is on the brink of an amazing transformation – but a question still remains: how do we cultivate diverse talent so solar might realize its full potential? SEI has set out to answer that very question by considering how we provide meaningful training opportunities to those who face barriers to entry, women in particular. It’s no secret that the solar sector is a predominantly male-dominated field, and merely encouraging more women to join isn’t enough.

This International Women’s Day, let’s pause to recognize how we are each making a lasting, positive impact in our own communities and beyond. At SEI, we are taking real, meaningful steps to help bridge the gap and empower women. We’re actively cultivating women with training specifically geared towards inspiring their progress and success within this field by creating a safe space for women to learn without fear of being judged, discriminated against or undermined.

Our Women in Solar Program provides a space where women can create meaningful connections with other women, lifting one another up. Additionally, our Women’s Solar Lab Week provides a safe space for like-minded individuals to come together, spark inspiring conversations and form lasting connections, creating an atmosphere of true female empowerment. Join the SEI Women in Solar Power Program today, to connect, learn, and be empowered.

We ALL have the responsibility to create a culture of safety, respect and inclusion as we each do our part in bridging the gaps that still exist in our industry. The future of the solar industry is bright, but only if we continue to invest in creating a more diverse workforce together.
