Congratulations to Brad Burkhartzmeyer, co-founder of Remote Energy and SEI instructor, for receiving the Walt Ratterman Award for Creative Community Energy at the NABCEP CE Conference in San Diego.
The annual award was created to recognize and honor Walt Ratterman, one of NABCEP’s first Certificants and an SEI instructor, who was killed while working in Haiti when the devastating earthquake struck. Walt’s astonishing renewable energy work among some of the world’s most needy was truly inspirational. Walt channeled his efforts into the non-profit company he co-founded, Sun Energy Power International. The company’s mission was “to promote an increased quality of life in remote, rural regions of the world through the use of renewable energy”.
NABCEP donated $500 to Remote Energy and the attendees passed the hat and collected over $1000. Remote Energy will donate all the money raised by attendees to Henry Red Cloud and Red Cloud Renewable Energy Center, who were recently devastated by 500 year flooding. Watch the video describing the scene from Henry Red Cloud.
